Within the project “Catalyzing market transformation for industrial energy efficiency and accelerate investments in best available practices and technologies in Macedonia” the replication program has initiated for the support of the realization of the Energy Management System in accordance to ISO 50001 with four new partner industrial companies. In order for the companies to absorb the methods defined by the ISO 50001 standard and the program developed by UNIDO, a training for the representatives of the new partner-companies was held in the REC office in the period of 9-12 May 2017. The training was delivered by the leading expert in this area, Liam McLaughlin. Besides the representatives of the new partner-companies, three persons came from the partner-companies that participated in the previous program cycle; representatives of the competent institutions on industrial energy efficiency joined the training as well. At the end of the training, the participants took a partial exam, which is a prerequisite to obtain a UNIDO certificate. The participants have highly evaluated the training`s practical approach and innovative methods of monitoring energy performance, as well as identifying no-cost or low-cost opportunities / measures to reduce energy consumption. REC still has available space for two to three new partner-companies and is working on their identification and inclusion in the program.
