The Project “Catalysing Market Transformation for Industrial Energy Efficiency and Accelerating Investments in Best Practices and Technologies in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” aims to accelerate the transformation of the Macedonian market for industrial energy efficiency by addressing many of the existing barriers, in particular through strengthening policy, regulatory and institutional frameworks for industrial energy efficiency (IEE) and supporting increased diffusion of and investment in best available industrial energy efficiency practices and technologies.
The project is jointly implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe - Country Office Macedonia (REC COM), and largely funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project has also been partnering with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, the Ministry of the Economy, the Energy Agency and the Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion, as well as with the private sector (Chamber of Commerce, industrial enterprises and energy efficiency services providers).
The present Call falls under Project Component 3 (PC3), which aims at accelerating the pace of investments in IEE projects and technologies by enhancing the use of available financing facilities for investments in industrial EE as well as to help mobilize additional financing from the Macedonian banking sector.
In this context, UNIDO and REC COM are seeking support from an experienced national financing expert. The objective of the assignment is to finalize design of a Technical Assistance Facility and Performance-based Financial Reward mechanism.
