The Regional Environmental Center (REC) – Country Office Macedonia, participated to the final conference of the project in Montenegro, where Mr. Jozhe Jovanovski, Technical expert in the REC CO Macedonia, had a presentation and promotion of the project “Stabilizing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from road transport through doubling of global vehicle fuel economy: Regional implementation of the Global Fuel Economy Initiative” implemented in the Republic of Macedonia.

The presentation is a part of the promotional activities of the project and an introduction of the main scope of the project – preparation of the National Fuel Economy Policy. The main components of the presentation were the prepared data basis of registered vehicles in the Republic of Macedonia and the possibilities for the establishment of a Central Registry for vehicles and reforms of the taxation system in the Republic of Macedonia, in terms of entering the СО₂ emissions as a taxation criteria.

The final conference in Montenegro was an excellent possibility to exchange experiences from the implementation of both of the projects, in Montenegro and the Republic of Macedonia.
